Ce long papyrus fut composé pour proposer une paraphrase d’un ancien rouleau égyptien, trouvé à Memphis sous le règne du dernier pharaon Nectanébo, concernant le culte d’Imhotep assimilé à Asclépios dans l’époque gréco-romaine.
