Le papyrus transmet une version écrite des rituels d’initiation d’Éleusis : son lien avec cette sphère mystérieuse est confirmé par la mention de Déméter, de sa fille Coré-Perséphone et de Triptolème (dans son rôle de juge des morts, donc lié à Osiris et rattaché à Hadès).
